twitter@iPhoneMania_jp からのツイート2021年9月2日08時46分読了まで 約 2分24秒Apple MusicやAmazon Musicが高音質なロスレス音源を追加料金なしで利用できるようにしたことで、ロスレスでの音楽ストリーミング再生が身近になっています。しかしながら、最近人気のBluetooth接続のイヤフォンやヘッドフォンは、Bluetooth経由での音楽伝送の規格上劣化が発生し、ロスレスでの音楽再生はできませんでした。 Qualcommが新たに発表したaptX LosslessはBluetooth接続のイヤフォンやヘッドフォンでCD品質のロスレス音楽再生を可能にする新しい規格です。16-bit/44.AptX Lossless with 1kHz roses audio playback
このaptX Losslessは既存のaptX Adaptiveを拡張したものです。 通常はBluetoothの接続品質に応じて音質を自動調整しますが、ロスレスオーディオを再生していることを検出すると自動的にCD品質での音楽伝送を有効にします。 これまでにもソニーのLDACやQualcommのaptX HDといった高音質をうりにするBluetoothの規格は存在しました。 しかしながら、それらは音楽を非可逆圧縮して伝送する規格であり、元の音源に対して劣化が発生します。 これに対して、aptX Losslessは可逆圧縮して16-bit/44.1kHzの音源を伝送することにより、数学的に劣化の起こらない音楽再生が可能です。
Consumers are looking for good sounds
Qualcommが発表した「2021 State of Sound Report」によると、調査対象者の70％が「良い音」を求めており、さらに52％が高品質またはロスレスのオーディオを求めているとのことです。 Apple MusicやAmazon Musicが追加料金なしでロスレス音源再生を可能にしたのはこの流れのなかにあるといえるでしょう。 これまではBluetooth接続のイヤフォンやヘッドフォンではロスレス音源再生が不可能でしたが、aptX Losslessの登場でより多くの消費者がロスレスでの音楽再生を楽しめそうです。 aptX Losslessは2021年後半に利用可能になる予定となっています。 なお、aptX Losslessを利用するにはスマートフォンやタブレットなどの再生機器およびイヤフォンやヘッドフォンの両方がSnapdragon Audioに対応している必要があります。 現状のiPhoneやiPadはSnapdragon Audioには対応しておらず、AirPodsシリーズも対応していません。
